Steve Mason was born in Providence, Rhode Island and attended the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. After graduation he worked in New York City and gained valuable experience by assisting other established photographers. Steve returned to New England in 2001 to work as a professional photographer focusing on industrial and corporate work for companies such as GTE and General Dynamics. He began working with the Bristol Workshops in Photography as an opportunity to focus more time on commercial and fine art photography. Steve has been interested in photography from a young age when fifty cents and a stack of Bazooka Bubble gum comics was enough to acquire his first camera. He is still amazed that he has realized his dream of making a living doing what he loves most. Steve lives in Pawtucket, RI, with his wife and teenage daughter.
