You and your precious pooch will get a massage, makeover, a professional portrait by Julie Brigidi, a little goodie bag and, of course, a fun day out for you and your dog! RSVP 401-272-1772 or info@alaynewhitespa.com. All proceeds will go to the Providence Animal Shelter. Hope you can join us!
We photographed a local celebrity! :
We are very excited to say that one of our portrait clients is famous! No, Julie was not able to get Brad Pitt in our studio, but rather someone of the feathered variety. Lemon the Duck and her "mom" Laura Backman had Julie photograph them for their book which is due out this summer. Animal causes are near and dear to all of our hearts here are Bristol Workshops (we have a total of 14 four legged "kids" between us). So we were tickled pink (or should I say "lemon") when Laura called the studio asking us to do a portrait of her special duck. Check out our favorite shot on the professional portraits page. Read more about Lemon and the special bond she shares with Laura.
Workshops News :
The Digital Photography Workshop is a hit! Everyone seems to have gotten new digital cameras this winter and not know how to use them to their potential. No sense in having a three color histogram display if you don't know what to do with it! Let us show you how. Dates for spring workshops are being organized now. More Digital Photography Workshops with Mark Abbott have been added to the summer schedule!
(Private tutorials are available on an hourly basis - call to find out more information!)
Upcoming Exhibits :
Saturday, May 3rd : Rhode Island School of Design Museum - Going to the Dogs!
Julie was invited RISD to be one of a handful of local photographers to capture portraits of Rhode Islanders and their furry friends. The gala cocktail party will host a live and silent auction of canine-inspired artworks. Click here for more details.
October 7th - November 8th : To celebrate Rhode Island's Italian Heritage Month this October, Gallery Z in Providence will host a solo exhibition of Stephan's work. Colors of Italy is a retrospective of his travel photography featuring works in silver-gelatin and ciba-chrome. Included are works from his book Angels of Pompeii, capturing the beauty of the caves and ruins of Pompeii, Italy as well as scenes of Venice, where he spent several years in the 1960s and 1970s. Opening reception Thursday October 16th from 5 - 9 pm. For more information on Gallery Z 2008 schedule.
