the making of remarkable people
A three year project was completed as an exhibition, book publication, and archive established in 1995. Remarkable People: A Rhode Island Family Album, was achieved as an intensive documentary project projecting a positive spirit of giving and caring by the many subjects chosen and portrayed in a large portfolio of photographs. Moreover, it in itself served as a vehicle for extending the care through the charitable practice of its author and contributors. It is the intention of this workshop to stimulate, encourage and support the remaking of Remarkable People into a second volume. A range of experience will be necessary and admission to this series of workshops will be by portfolio and interview. Under the leadership of the prior author and photographer, Stephan Brigidi, participants will seek to produce a body of work that will serve to inspire the community and populous of our home. The small select number of photographers chosen to commit to this longrange project will determine specific goals. Inquiries may be made beginning in June 2007 to receive a prospectus for the project outlining the requirements. Letters of interest with accompanying c.v. will follow with submitted portfolio. Ultimately, a group of photographers will be selected to embark on this next phase of Remarkable People. Fall, 2008 is the projected beginning timetable for the project.
